February Shoebox cards

Hi Everyone!!

Shoebox Cards is always the first Tuesday of the month!!  Here are the amazing creations for February.

This card is called a Joy Fold Card.  The card base is 8.5x4.25, scored at 5.5.  the smaller card base is 8x3 scored at 4. The background papers are 4x5.25, (2) 4x3 and (2) 3.75x2.75.  It is nice to have something like the hearts to tuck the smaller card in to keep it closed.  This is a great way to use up scraps that coordinate.  and it's a lovely card... fun to make and fun to receive!!

Open.

Here's Anita's LOL card... Lots of Love card.  Love the traditional colors and all of the little details.  The shadow layering... the heart shaped bling, using the shimmer brush on the butterfly, the embossed hearts and dots... Super classy  and rich card!!

Julie's card is a Special Delivery.  It's a mail box that has been decorated and is over flowing with love letters.  Making the little envelopes was so much fun.  They are just rectangles with an edge folded over and trimmed to a point or trimmed to look like an envelope.  The fun little heart stickers made it super cute.  The envelopes are attached to little strips inside, adhered to a  (2) bar(s) inside.  So much fun!!

Julie had a bonus project... it's a love you box with a kiss inside.  Starting piece is 5.5x4.75.  Score with 5x5 at the top at 1.25,2.5,3.75, & 5.  Turning a quarter turn, score at .5, 1.75, 3, & 4.25. B&T paper is 1x1 inch. Cut 5. Use ribbon the top for ease of opening.  We also used a .5x2 inch strip of plastic to glue the kiss to.

 Surprise

Here is the cutting diagram for the box. cut on the lines.  Please note that some lines are not scored.  Also, you may want to angle some of the edges that are glued.  Next fold on the score lines and adhere the half flaps as needed.  (side note, the left over pieces make great envelopes for the mail box!!)

Kathy's super cute card includes a fabric yo-yo.  We used colored pencils to color the ears and cheeks... there was brown colored pencils to color the bunny, but I liked the white bunny and just colored the ears and the cheeks.  We used decorative scissors for the white.  (there was also washi tape available for another layer). Super cute bunny!! Cute Fabric!!  What a fun heart.

Melani's card featured hanging hearts.  We used one continuous string using glue dots to on the back of the smaller white cardstock.  Then we added as many pre-punched hearts as we wanted and added a simple XO stamp.  The layers really add another level to this card.  This is a sweet valentine card!!

Bonus!!
Melani punched all of the hearts out and thought these might make a fun border, so we made an additional card with borders and scraps.  Anita brought a big heart punch, so I used that and made a very quick card using leftovers!  What fun!!

Roxxy has finished her night classes and attended for the first time in a long time.  Here's her sweet baby card... we inked the embossed white layer with yellow and then added the yellow pieces and some ribbon to simulate a baby blanket.  We punched a hole by the baby's hand and wrapped gold thread through it and added a lovely gold star.  This is a very sweet baby card.

Shannon's card used very pretty background and texture paper... very soft and elegant with the red hearts already in it.  We added a diecut Happy, stamped Valentine's Day, and added a few decorations to make a lovely valentine.  What a lovely card.

We had a full house and it was nice to have so many here.  We look forward to our next get together, Tuesday March 6 at 7:00 PM.  Until then... Stay Warm!  Spring is just around the corner!!
