July Hostess Club

Hi Everyone!  Here are the creations from the July Hostess Club featuring True Love Workshop.

This the hostess Club layout using the Floral thin cuts.  It's a very simple layout, and the flowers added a bunch of fun!  The words Enjoy Life are cut using the Alphabet thin cuts.

The first layout was inspired by Lynn Como.  It's great that this kit that was designed to be a wedding kit, is easily adapted for other purposes.  This layout celebrates friendship!!

Another layout inspired by Lynn Como!!  This is one of my favorite layout!!  I love the stamped sentiment and also the letters for family were cut out using the letters thin cuts.  Lovely layout!!

Here's yet another layout inspired by Lynn Como.  This would be a great page for a sweet little girl. This uses lots of cut outs from the bonus page!

This layout was inspired by Jaime Llewellyn and was a quick layout.  It used a few things from the cut out paper and the sweet hint of green is a zip strip!

Join us for another hostess club! Usually on the second Tuesday of the month!

June Shoebox Cards

Oops... Here are the June Shoebox Card Collections!!

This card was so much fun!!  It's a tent card and uses washi tape on the side.  The dandelion was stamped in Pebble ink on a 3x5.5 cardstock and lagoon strips were added to the sides, ribbon was added and then mounted to the card.  Make a wish was embossed on the lagoon with a pearl silver.  A lagoon button in the center of the dandelion makes the image pop.  This card was inspired by CTMH.

Anita Whitson's card feature two stamp roses and leaves.  She taught us how to stamp in a lighter color with the more solid image... or to stamp off on scrap paper then stamp the detailed image in full strength.  There were lots of lovely layers in this card.  The ribbon needed to be added before adhering the dark pink layer.  It's lovely birthday card!!

Beth Barber shared this sweet card!!  It says you are the sweetest and the jar has a lid with a pretty red and white twine wrapped around it.  This was a quick cute and clean card!

Beth had two cards this month!!  Love this monochromatic balloon card with the perfect sentiment!  Just a note to lift your spirits.  The embossed background of clouds is the perfect backdrop for the Hot Air Balloons!  Adding the little bit of ribbon makes this such a lovely card!!

Melani shared a new technique tonight... using scraps of paper to add dimension to the background.  Often we have odd shaped scraps and bits... by adding them at different angles, it's a great way to use up scraps and add an interesting background.  What a fun card!!

Shannon's sweet card features a frog image, double layered for impact.  Also there are cut little flies stamped in green on the green background image.  The sentiment is Have a toad you lately... We also added glitter stickles to the cat tail!  What a great card!!

Thanks to all the gals for sharing their creativity and time!  It's a joy to spend time making cards with you!  Can't wait to see you next month!!

July Shoebox Cards

Wow!  It's July already!  Here are our July Shoebox Creations!!

What a fun card this was to create.  It uses border thin cuts and cricut shapes.  We used the cropadile to add eyelets to this card.  Remember the old days where we needed to punch a hole with an anywhere hole punch and a hammer... it's fun to bring some of those things back!  I love the colors on this card!  This card was inspired by Silke Ledlow.

Anita's ethereal card was super fun to create... She had prestamped the card and the inside was printed on the computer, so we needed to cut the card down to fit everything on the card. The fairy was colored in with colored pencils and used a blender to blend the pencils.  A pretty little gem was added to the wand and a golden oldie ivy stamp was added on the edge along with sponging on the edge.  Gold stars completed the whimsical imagery.  Fun card!

Beth gets the OA Award this week!!  (Over Achiever) as she offered two cards this month. This card was quick and a lot of fun.  The Happy Birthday was stamped in the white circle and the shoe was already cut out.  We added a bit of ribbon on a paperclip.  All of the cards looked different... we all had different shoes.  It was fun and quick!!

This next card was so much fun!  Beth is a dietitian and likes to bring that into her cardmaking world!!  "I truly RELISH our friendship"  and inside it says "I miss you... Let's KETCHUP soon".  Just darling... The back ground makes it feel like a picnic table cloth.  We did color cut and paste and it was super fun!!

Holly  joined us for the first time and was so thoughtful that she brought cards to share with us!  I love the combination of blue and green!! Love this cute card!!  Looking forward to her joining us in August!!

Kathy brought lots of fun items and passed them around to create a collage card.  She passed around 5x7 cards and offered either blue or green background sheet as the base.  She passed around gems, stamps, ribbons, stickers flowers, washi tape, shimmer spray, buttons, die cuts and such.  I found the blue heart and loved it and built around it... And of course, all of the cards looked so different!!  We enjoyed playing with Kathy's supplies!

Last month, Pam came as a guest!  So this was her first creation with us!  The card base was hand made paper with a matching envelope.  The "Tea cup" was colored in and cut out.  there was some debate about cutting the steam or not, mine is cut out... someone else used a diecut circle and some chose to cut them off.  Inside, there was a was a pocket with tag that said "Come and share a pot of tea...My home is warm and my friendship's free"  There was some side discussion about adding a tea bag in the pouch and that led to someone saying don't put a used tea bag in there... and we laughed and laughed.

Many of the regulars were unable to attend as it was getting close to a holiday weekend.  Hopefully they will be back to join us in August.  We meet on the first Tuesday of the month at 6:30 PM!

June Hostess Club

Hi Everyone,  May and June were super busy months in the Bowman household, so the blogs are a bit behind.  Thanks for your patience!!  Thankfully the July 4th weekend offered some respite time!!

Here are the lovely Sweet Girl layouts.

This is the hostess club layout and was inspired by Close to my Heart!  Sweet Girl was cut on the cricut.  This is truly a sweet layout.

This quick layout shows that not every girly layout needs to be pink!!  This lovely layout is inspired by Jennifer Smith.  It was fun to just use the blue and gray tones.

This layout holds many photos!  It's a great quick layout!  There's a fun feel with the animals and the circle paper.  Also, a zip strip grounds the layout.  This layout was inspired by Brenda Rose. This is a quick quick layout!!

Finally here is a sweet PINK layout.  There is some pops of blue and gray in this layout.  I love the individual letters saying Sweet Dreams.  This layout was inspired by Tina Lovell!  This is my favorite layout using this kit!

Please join us for hostess club!  It's a lot of fun and it's a great way to get up to four layouts created.  Hostess Club meets on the second Tuesday each month!  Join us for lots of fun and creativity!!

May Hostess Club

Hi Everyone!!

Here are the layouts featuring So Much Happy!  This was such a fabulous kit!  One of my favorite kits to be honest.

Here is the hostess Club layout.  We used lots of cricut images on these layouts!  This layout was inspired by the folks at Echo Park.  Also thin cuts were used to make the yellow border.  Love this bright and flowery layout.  Also this layout would accommodate a 6x12 flip flap or pocket pages to add more photos.

As a teal lover, this is a fabulous layout.  Thanks to Kathy Corson for the inspiration for this amazing layout!  Shimmer trim always adds a lovely pop of sparkle to any layout!

This daisy paper is so gorgeous!!  This lovely layout is so much fun and the large daisies really make this layout pop!  Julie Carriere is one of my favorite scrapbook/cardmaking artists and she is the inspiration for this layout!

The third layout uses the fun flowered paper in such a lovely way.  I love how the paper is used in that it allows the paper to shine, but also allows us to use both sides of the paper.  This is another layout inspired by Kathy Corson.

Hostess Club meets on the second Tuesday of the month and doors open at 5:00 PM.  There is always a layout for everyone who comes to make and also, at least three layouts using the featured kit.  Hope to see you join us for the next class!!

May Shoebox Cards

May is always such a busy busy month!!  It's been nice to see the sun today!  It's a gorgeous day today!

Here are the creations from May!

Cactus just fascinate me!  This was a fun card to create!  The words say Stuck on You!  the green cactus in the pot is stamped and then cut out with a die. The little flower is hand cut and the green stitched piece is a fun die set called decorative borders!  Check it out... it's lots of fun!!

Beth's sweet card is a lovely window scene complete with curtains and flowers in the window box.  Beth's cards are always so thoughtful.  The brick background also makes it feel oh so homey!

Julie's card is a graduation card!! The hat and the numbers make this a classy card!  The colors are striking!  This is called the impossible card... It makes a great graduation card!

Melani treated us to two cards.  The images were stamped, and we used chalk and makeup to add color to the images.  There was a variety of backgrounds and ribbons to use as we pleased.  The stamped images were animals with a play on their words.  It was fun to color and create!

Shannon also treated us to two cards.  Both were thank you cards, one for teachers and one for nurses.  There were cuts stickers and bling to make the cards pop.  The stethoscope was precut and preglued for us making these quick and cute thank yous!

We missed some of regulars, Roxxy who was off caring for her father and Anita knee has been bothering her for sometime.  And Kathy who has been irregular for the last little while.  Hopefully they will be back in June!!  Good onya's everyone!!

April Hostess Club I Heart Us

Here are the layouts from April Hostess Club:)

The kit used is I Heart us and it was a rainbow of colors!  Here's the Hostess Club layout.  Also we did an insert as well.  it was fun to do this bright and colorful layout using primary colors.  This layout is inspired by a layout from Scrapbook Generation.  They have such fun layouts!

Images were used from Artisite, Artbooking, cricut classic fonts.  Also, an additional photo flap was used and decorated using the same colors and themes.  These pocket pages are a great way to add addition photos to a layout!

Here's just the layout!

and here is the layout with the pocket page.

and here are just the pocket pages.  They are quite fun!  Also there are a lot of size options.  These pocket pages are for 3x4 photos and cards.

The first layout for those who are working with the kit is below.  The Heart paper is from the kit (though white cardstock would also work well) and uses the Make it from your Heart volume 1 design Eight.  It's nice and bright and springy!

The second layout is another bright and Happy layout.  The inspiration for this layout is from Scrap Generation.  It was fun to do this layout and you might have heard me giggling as this layout was being put together.  It just made me Happy!!

And the third layout, while dramatically different, is from the same kit.  And while this layout features the word Love and hearts, this could easily be a patriotic layout.  I love how versatile these paper packets can be!!

Be sure to Join us for the next Scrapbooking class.  Hostess club is generally the second Tuesday of the month and the doors open at 5:00 PM.  We will be doing So much Happy for the May class.  Also, please know that kits may be purchased after the class (depending on availability) and done at a later time!

April Shoebox Cards

April is here and so is spring!  Check out the creations for April's Shoebox get together!!

This is a darling Easter box that could hold some treats, $$ or would be cute to set on the table during Easter.  The box is inspired by Pootles from the UK.  It starts with a 5x8.5 piece of cardstock.  Scoring the long way, score at 2 and at 4.  Next, turn the cardstock so that the short score is at the top.  Score at 2, 4, 6, and 8.  Next score at 1&5 only to the first score line.  Next take a ruler and score from the 1 inch mark to the four inch score line in the to make diagonal lines to the 4 inch score line.  Now fold on the score lines, except the diagonal lines.  then cut of the 1x.5  and the bottom 2x.5 (there should be a 2x.5 in the middle.)  also, cut up the bottom slits.  and cut off the top 1x6.  corner round the top flap.  Fold the diagonals. fold up the bottom and adhere... I like the front flap to be the last on so that it looks like it flows.  then tie the ribbon.  thin cuts were used to make the oval egg and the chick was stamped on yellow background and texture paper and cut out and used an orange marker to color in the bill and the feet.  A glue dot will hold the egg to the ribbon so it can be slid on and off. Cute!!

Anita's card features yummy Ice Cream stamps and paper!  The ice cream was two step stamping, so we stamped off the first layer and then added the second layer.  the ice cream cone was doubled with a dimensional layer and a sweet yellow bow.  A cherry added to the top really makes the card!  We also added a chocolate cone on the inside.  A super sweet card!!

Beth's turn for a twofer... This fun card says... Sometimes you're the windshield... and the inside says, sometimes you're the BUG!... we added a bug and some dashes to connect the BUG to the top of the card (the pic didn't turn out very good)... and then the phrase Hang in there! was also stamped on the inside.  we did color the bug!  Such a cute stampset!  and a thoughtful card!!

Beth's second card is a bright and colorful card with a frog under an umbrella saying Hoppy for you!  It's a great card for April Showers bringing May Flowers!  What fun!!

Julie's card is a beautiful card... it began as an 8x8 card, scored at 4 all the way acrossed and then at four down to the first score mark.  We cut it the rest of the way down.  She gave us two patterned papers 3.75x3.75 which we cut diagonally... and a green paper that we added texture to by running it through the cuttlebug. We added Magnets under the patterned paper and there was also a white paper and we added the negative magnet under that.   There are two connected circles and one free circle to make the stand up.  the connected circles had one folded back on itself, then flipped it the other way and adhered the greeting circle to that.  next, add the heart to make it stand.  This is a beautiful card!

Melani helped us create the never ending card.  We started two 6x6 pieces of cardstock and scored them at 1.5 and 4.5 and cut them in half going through the score marks.  Next lay out the two going one way and next on top, have them going the other way.  Next lift up one of the flaps and only put glue in the corner square.  Do this on each corner.  Now work the folds and decorate.

Roxxy's cute Easter card features fun easter egg paper with colored easter eggs.  the first flap is folded back on itself and and decorative paper added to the front and to the inside.  A Bunny sticker was added to a diecut tag... (only put adhesive on half of the tag... )

Under the bunny is another tag with an easter greeting and a bow.  (note... make sure that the tags are placed on top of each other.   This is a nice springy card!

The next Shoebox cards will meet on Tuesday May 7 at 6:30 PM.

March Shoebox Cards

Hi Everyone,

I think I blinked... and then it was April!  Here's our creations from March... Love these creations and the ladies that share their talents and their stuff!!

The first card (a bit different than the original, but the same basic design... the stamp set is different) Stamping the flowers on the white, mounted on a darker purple with a simple yellow center. The lower part of the card has second generation stamping along with a simple greeting.  This card would be easily adapted to what ever stamps you have on hand.

Anita did a two-fer in March... we were able to create two cards!!  The first card is a lovely layered Thinking of you... with the addition of a layer, and the "photo mounts" and the ribbon make this versatile card.  The flowers were stamped on the front and also stamped and cut out to add additional dimension.

Anita's second card uses a random stamped card using a lovely hydrangea stamp and using a blue and purple give this card a soft feel and with the addition of leaves, it completes this card.  The extra layer really gives this card dimension and gives a more elegant feel.  There are also three diecut butterflies that add an elegant touch.  Love all of the stamping on this card.

Beth was out of town in March, but was impressed to still send the supplies to create this fabulous under the sea card. Many of the times were already cut out and supplied with adhesive.  Love this background and texture paper... and the diecut net and octopus.  What a fun and creative card.

Julie's card has a Saint Patrick's day feel to it.  Fun paper and stamps.  The design she was working on didn't work the way she wanted... (we have all been there) so she brought all of her supplies and just let us create our own design!  Everyone's a wee bit Irish on St. Paddy's Day!!

Shannon's creation also features a Saint Patrick's flavor.  She had fun two types of background and texture paper, one featuring shamrocks and one just shades of green... and adding the cut out shamrocks really give a pop to this fun card.  Love the green ribbon on the side as well!  just such a sweet card!!

Melani's card was a fun fold card.  Lots of squares in this card, we started out with 4x12 piece of lightweight cardstock, and scored it at 4 and 8.  Then we scored from the bottom left to the upper right of both of the end pieces Then adhere the 3x3 square... only on half the diagonal... and then it folds in on itself.  An additional 2x2 square was added on the top of the 3x3 square.  It was tied with a piece of yarn.  How cute.

Roxxy drove us "Buggy" with this cute card... She had pre cut the shape (a diamond) for us, and then we had to score, starting in the middle... putting the center point on six of our scoreboard, scoring at 5.5 and 6.5, 5 and 7, 4 and 8, 3.5 and 8.5, 2.5 and 9.5, 2 and 10, 1 and 11, .5 and 11.5 (this last piece will hang over the edge of the 4x5.25 layer.  The card is decorated with puffy bugs and fun words cut from a wordstrip.  Super cute card!!

Shoebox cards is a wonderful night of creativity, laughter and conversation!  It's fun to find such a group of ladies that I call my friends.  Love you all!!
