This layout was inspired by Pam Thorn!!  I love the sweater paper as a background!

This layout is simple but lovely. Shimmer tape was cut in half.  I love love love this black paper with the glacier (blue) dots!! (artbooking) (MIFYH V2 p8)

Heartstrings Cards

So Sweet Shannon's husband was out of town last week and she invited us over for a scrapping marathon!!  Thanks Shannon!!  It was lots of fun!

So I worked on some cards... and CTMH has this great Cardshop WOTG called Heartstrings!!  

So I thought I would work on those!  And I love the stamp set that goes with the set... it was fun to use.  The kit contains 15 cards and envelopes, a stampset, the puffy stickers, cardstock and papers to make the cards and a brochure with cutting directions to make these 15 cards.. (three sets of five).

It's great and quick and easy to get these cards done!  

Ink color used were slate, pixie, lagoon, ruby (and I used juniper for the floral)

And of course I changed up some the cards... because that's the fun thing, but I did use all of the pieces as they were cut from the directions..

This card I changed to from an upright card to a long card, basically because I liked the heart stamp going up and down. The words were changed as well... 

This card, I changed the words to Happy Valentine's day! and I added the ruby arrows on the side because it is such an awesome stamp!! (oops!!! I didn't make the original)

Anyway... it was a lot of fun to play with this card kit!  and it's just $24.95!!  Such a great value!!  And there's still time to get it here for Valentines day!!

Sympathy Cards

Do you have a stash of cards that you can just pull a card and send it?  The other day, my husband asked for a sympathy card and I didn't have one that I really liked... but I did have a design that I really liked... so instead of just making one card, I made 12.  

It feels good to have a stash of these on hand, and I hope I don't need them all!!

Here's the recipe for the card
1.5x4.25 Whisper cardstock with D1544 Distressed backgrounds with Slate ink (using the burlap stamp set).

.25x4.25 twilight cardstock (this is just the color I used, but many colors would work, smokey plum comes to mind right away)

.75x4.25 slate cardstock

then add about 3.25 inch of washi tape ... note there is a space between the washi tape and the slate cardstock.

Cut ovals using Art Philosophy (oval 3) the white one is 2 inches and the twilight is 2.25 inches.  The tree is from C1559 Always Grateful and the oval is sponged with slate ink.  The tree can be popped with dimensional tape as well. 

Next time you need a card for something... do yourself a favor and make a couple of extras!!

January Hostess Club Layouts

So it's a new year!  And here is our first layout for this year!!  

This layout was inspired by Pamela O'Connor who did a birthday layout and the Artbooking Cartridge! Her layout was a birthday layout and I loved the Chevrons, but didn't want to do a birthday layout.... so I saw this paper and it reminded me of my dad... random, bubbly light energy, so I thought ok... I can do a tribute page to him... 

And of course at Hostess Club, Attendees are invited to use the layout as an inspirational piece and choose colors, words and designs that work for them.  

Here are their Creations.... 

 Dulce has two wonderful boys and wanted to do more boyish colors and she used Hopscotch and Chalk It Up and added lagoon for a delightful mix of colors and papers!  She also used the January SOTM in the background using second generation stamping.  

Theresa thought the hopscotch paper worked well with her pictures and easily added these fabulous concert photos to her layout.  She opted to add a heart flag rather than the banner for better photo placement !  It looks quite charming!!

Thanks girls for a lovely evening of scrapping!!

Design a card and bring the supplies for up to 10 people to recreate your card!
