Scrapping... making time stand still

Stacy Julian was our speaker and convention and she shared this video with us... and it really touched my heart.

She encouraged us to scrapbook the memories... not necessarily the events... think about that for a moment... what's the difference. Sometimes we are so busy taking photos that we forget to enjoy the moment.  Have you ever scrapbooked an event without photos?  What's the really important?  Sometimes we get behind our cameras and observe rather than participate in the event.  Pictures are important... and so are the memories.

Christmas 2005... A different kind of Christmas... The tree was small and the gifts were things we bought to replace items we had lost in the fire.  We had our traditional Christmas meal... turkey, mashed potatoes, stuffing, green bean casserole and pumpkin pie. There are no pictures from that day.  For us, the important thing was to be together and enjoy our "normal" tradition in a not so normal kind of year.  That was truly a comfort.

To me, that memory is a very special.  We had a house fire December 6 2005.  Life was not normal for a long time after that.  Having a "Traditional Holiday Meal" was a great comfort and scrapbook worthy.

Try scrapping a memory...
