December Shoebox Cards

Hey everyone!!

Thanks for being patient... have has some computer issues but my hubby came up with a work around!!  Yeah!!

So here are our amazing creations from December!!

My card features the Snowflake thin cuts on Sapphire paper... with white embossed snowflakes on the white layer as well the words.. Tis the Season to Sparkle!  Simple and clean!!

Anita, aka OA... Over Achiever, share these amazing tags with us!!  here's a group shot and then there are individual shots.  My favorite is the snowman!!

We did this on first and it's my favorite!  She had everything cut out for us so it went quite fast... but we did have to cut off the nose.. as the original was a side view... love that we were able to transform it!!  The front view is fantastic.

The second tag was this adorable Santa tag and we punched out the star and saved the outside for another tag.  We trimmed the sides and added the beard (scalloped circle) and stamped a nice greeting.

The third tag was a mitten and we traced a pattern on two sided paper and then also traced two cuffs... so that the tag would look great from either side.  We also added hearts, puff ribbon and gems.
(note.. both sides are photographed.)

The final two were Mr. and Mrs. Claus.  We used a pop top for his belt and punched out little peppermint candies for her buttons and used an oval scalloped punch for her collar and used the remnants of the star punch out for her belt.  and the red striped twine is perfect for these fun tags.

Julie taught us this amazing chimney card... with Santa's legs coming out of the chimney!  So cute and it folds up to fit in a regular sized card envelope.  Honestly, the hardest thing about this was cutting the snow for the chimney top!  Fun card Julie!!

Kathy's card we had to do in stages... first we did the red layer... and we used some kind of paint, not sure what it was... but we had to splatter it on the paper, then use the straw to blow the wet paint around... wait for it to dry, then we did the green like the red... then we colored the poinsettia in the star and added the words.  Kathy loves to share new techniques with us!  This would make a fun birthday or new years card too!!  Thanks Kat!!  You always get our creative juices flowing.

Next is Lori... and she really had us wondering as she gave us each a piece of foil.  She had all of the pieces cut for us the car and the tree... then she had us squirt a little glue on the foil and I got really curious.  then she passed out the itty bitty tires... and we used the glue to put them on.  Loved that the card mimicked the paper!  And thanks for always keeping us guessing!!

Last month Roxxy helped us create an owl using the middle circle and she was so excited to share another idea with us for this month using the same set. And she used glitter paper to really make it shine!! I love the cardinal!!  It's so cute and so much fun!!  Wonder what she's going to use this set for next month!!  tee hee!!

Shannon's fun card is a result of clearance shopping last year... she had these great globe stickers that she found last year and bought them for a great price and add a little bit of glitter tape and some sponging and it's a fabulous greeting card!

We missed  you Melani!!  The next class is Tuesday January 3rd at 7:00 pm!  see ya then!!

Swan Lake Workshop

Hi Everyone!!  Hope you had an amazing Thanksgiving!!

Here are some great layouts to inspire you for any photos you may have taken!!

Hostess club layout using bulk paper and a PML card!! The grey squares were stamped and everything white or grey was sponges with whisper!!  I love this quick and simple layout!!

This second layout was inspired by the amazing Lynn Como... I love this layout and love this fabulous blue paper!!  The fun hearts and family just pop on the blue paper!!

The third layout was inspired by the talented Michelle Snyder!  this was a simple yet lovely layout and it uses zip strips!  love it!!

This has to be one of my favorite layouts... was sad the that back of the word paper is the beautiful blue paper... but loved how amazing the sponged leaves go on this page.  Special thanks to Charlene Weiss-Colgan.  Here is another layout with the hello card and we stamped an additional greeting on it!!

And because we had more paper and more time, we added another lovely layout inspired by Julie Scott!  It was a quickie and loved using Flower Market Cart cartridge!!

The next Hostess Club workshop will feature the City Sidewalks collection and will be on Tuesday December 13... doors open at 5:00!!  see you there!!

November Shoebox Cards

Hi Everyone!!

So excited to share these amazing cards with you!!  We had a great night!  Thanks to all who came and shared their talents!!  Thank you to those who also brought treats!!  We always need some energy after working on our lovely cards!!

Here's my card... It's the Dizzy Circles (spirograph) (retired) stamp set!  I love these colors together!!  Barn Red (retired) and Juniper.  We sponged the edges with a little bit of Juniper to soften the hard edges.

Next up is Anita with a lovely Autumn card.  She taught us to make a button out of a punch and her secret to making this a stand up card!  The bottom makes a teepee like stand.  Such pretty paper and a lovely card.

Julie loves a good Turkey!! We had lots of different colors to choose from and we colored our turkeys and made a sweet little Happy Thanksgiving card!

Kathy shared a card making kit that a friend had given her and so we each got to choose any card and make it up!  Fun and quick and easy!  (love this brightly colored Argyle card!!)

Lori's lovely card was just fun!  She had done most of the work for us... the images were all impressed and cut out for us as well a the background being smooshed with color.  Just a fun and festive card Lori!!

Melani's creative card took lots of glue dots and lots of safety pins.  What a fun and clever card!  Would work as a baby announcement or a welcome baby card!  Very fun!!

Roxxy's card was a super cute owl and that we had to assemble.  Lots of great touches here... the background was fun and a great color, and the eyes with the mini pearls were really fun!!  and the swirl of branches that the owl is sitting on.

Shannon's card was take on one of her first cards she made.  We used a watercolor brush and inks to color the leaves and the turkey. I love the effect of the inks as watercolors on this card and how it makes it feel softer!

Hope you enjoyed our creativity!  It was a great night and
we had lots of great laughs and giggles along the way!
Our next class will be Tuesday December 6th.

And our Christmas party will be Tuesday December 20th at 7:00 pm at my house.  Bring a hand made gift as well as a treat to share and we will also exchange our Christmas cards that night.

Jeepers Creepers Workshop (October)

Hi Hi!!

First of thanks to my guests for being flexible and coming on the 18th due to me being sick. I am feeling much better now!!

Oh my goodness... this kit was so much fun!!

This first layout was our Hostess Club Layout!  It was inspired by Tina Lovell's (Hooligan's) layout.  I particularly liked the angled cut and over course the monsters are super cute ... and they are thin cuts!!  What fun!  Also, this kit could very easily be adapted to a birthday theme!!

This tangerine layout (tangerine is the new orange) layout was so much fun to do!!  Thanks to Lynn Como for her brilliant take on this halloween kit!  The edges of most everything are sponged with whisper and it's very subtle, but quite lovely.

This next layout was also inspired by Lynn Como... It was fun to add the little touches.. the spider web, the spider, and the various stickers as well.  You might notice that in the middle is one of our new page protectors.. this one has four 3x4 horizontal slots.  perfect for photos and Picture My Life cards!  It's a great way to add more to your layout!

I was so impressed with this next layout, that I had to make it!  The lighting in this photo isn't the best, because the bows and the middle are supposed to be gray...  and you could use almost any color on this layout, as an accent color.  I chose pomegranate.  Incredible layout... inspired by Dana Kessler.  I love this black and white striped washi tape!!

And this one was just plain fun!!  I loved that it used many of the stickers and PML cards! This layout was inspired by Chris Robertson!!

Well, that's all I have so far for this kit... and it was super fun to work on these layouts... the stickers and diecuts were amazing!!  I loved all of the papers... well most of them...  and really enjoyed this paper kit.

The next class will be Tuesday November 15th... and we will be working on Swan Lake.  Hope you all can make it!!

Magical Workshop (September)

Hi Everyone!!

Here's our take on Magical... this was a fun kit... and while Disney is very popular, it's also easy to try other things with this kit.

Here's the Hostess Club layout!  It's one we did at a corporate event and me being the rebel I can be, flipped the paper over... I liked the dots better than the stripes.

This fabulous layout was inspired by Dana Kessler (her layout was pink and hearts) but my guests went crazy for this layout!  It's just plan fun!!  and now that I look at it... I think that the pages are flip flopped... it should go the other way... but coolio... it looks good both ways!!

This layout was so much fun!!  Super cute and easy but it's the camera stamps that make this just plain fun!!

And the final layout... looks completely different than anything else and I love doing a surprise page... one that you say ... really this paper is part of the magical kit... LOL.  This delightful layout was inspired by Michelle Snyder's (calypso) layout.

I am so grateful for the creativity of my consultant friends!  and I love creating these fabulous layouts for my good friends.  I so enjoy spending time creating with them!

October Shoebox Cards

Hi Everyone!!

Finally have photos to upload... new to me computer system installed, but no slot for my memory card... technology... so I found a cord for my camera but still couldn't figure out how make it work... finally Scott came down to help... and really.. I just needed to turn my camera on... sigh...

Anyway... here's the cards we created!!

This is my card and it was inspired by Liz Mullins Johnson.  It is a lovely card and fun too!  We stamped each color with a different stamp.  I had cut out the leaf shapes ahead of time and embossed them with gold embossing powder and then we sponged the colors on the leaf... starting with with the yellow, then red and finally green... using sponge daubers.

Julie's amazing card is next...

I must not have put on the stamped cover she gave us, but trust me... it's amazing.  When you open it up it looks like this!!  It pops out!!

We took an 8.5x11 cardstock and cut it and scored and added some decorations!  I love the square pumpkin faces as well as the Frank image!!...  What a great surprise!!

Lori's card is next!!  Fun paper and great Stamps make this card sweet and simple, but super fun and we couldn't help but giggle as we made this cute card.  (my favorite is the Frankie!!) This image is a little blurry and I will take a better photo and post it later.

Roxxy's card was this spooktacular scenery shot cut out and we stamped the images.  Love the purple background.  It was fun assembling this darling card!!  All of the images were precut for us!

Shannon's darling card was a candy corn mummy... we tore off pieces of 1 black,2 white, 2 yellow and 2 orange and inked them with black... Staring at the top, we assembled them down, putting the black in the middle of the yellow and added googly eyes.  Super cute!!

And Shannon provided us with another selection of papers to make a second similar card!  this one was fun as well!  Double the fun!!

It was a smaller crowd this month, and we missed Kathy, Anita and Melani and hope that you can make it next month.  We will be meeting on Tuesday November 8th (please note date change) instead of Tuesday November 1st.
