Grateful Heart Layouts

Grateful Heart was such a wonderful scrapbooking kit... it is so versatile!!  Look at all of these amazing layouts!!  But it is only available through December 31!!! So hurry up and get your kit now!  The green dotted paper was one of my most favorites.

So, here is the hostess club layout!  It's a fun way to use this bright plaid!  Here the bright plaid influences the colors.  It's a great inspiration piece.  The blue with the splotches is also fun!  The owl is a well loved older stamp... and added a bit of whismy to this layout.  Also, there is a small pml card used on the top of the second page.

This layout comes from the book Cherish.

The first layout was inspired by Kathy Burrows.  The green strips on either end with the dotted green paper is a lovely autumn backdrop.  This is a wonderful layout with lots of room for photos.  The PML card bless is a flip flap.

This dark blue and checked pattern come together in this whimsical layout that features butterflies and celebrates fall.  Ginni Candelaria inspired this beautiful layout.

Here is another festive fall layout that shows off another great color scheme.  Integrating the color pomegranate along with the green and yellow sure makes a bright and festive layout.  Adding the leaves (both sticker and punch out) and a few butterflies makes this layout quite fun.  Thanks to Tharesa Little for being the inspiration for this layout.

This layout was so fun and quick.  Adding the punch out white pieces that really pop make this fall layout a perfect layout for many fall photos.  Kathy Carson layout was the inspiration for this.

Sunflowers make me happy... and so does this amazing layout!  It uses lots of scraps to make this layout.  The sunflowers and leaves (two seperate images) are from flower market, and the grateful is from artbooking.  The tag is from a PML card and the pumpkins are stickers.  Thanks to Janel Brinkerhoff for her inspiration on this layout!!

Hopefully there will be one more layout with the blue check pattern.  These are amazing layouts!!  All so fun and different and yet, they coordinate very nicely!!

The next hostess club will be Tuesday, January 15 at 5:00.  We will be working on Christmas layouts... please have your kit ordered by December 30 if you plan to attend.  Two options, Tis the Season and Oh What fun!

December Shoebox Cards

Happy December and Merry Christmas everyone!!

December can be a very busy month!!  Hope you are remember to enjoy the holidays!  Here's our creations for December!

My card is a gift card holder inspired by Tracey Ling.  It's fun and easy!

The dimensions are 4x11, scoring at 3.5, 4.5, 5.5 and 9.
Then cut on both sides of the 4.5 score... 4 5/8 and 4 3/8 and snip the ends to create the slight divot.
Round corners if desired and and add patterned paper to the top and the back.  Fold so that the one inch stands up.
Use a thin layer of adhesive at the bottom of the card holder.
Patterned papers are 3.75x1.75 (2) and 3.75x3.25 (2).
Belly band is .75x8 and score at 2 1/4 and 2 3/8, then add to card and score at the bottom the card and one 1/8 of to create the belly band. Decorate and and add sentiment.

Beth's card features a "Home for the Holidays" feel with festive front door scene including the snow on the bricks and a Christmas wreath on the door.  This a lovely holiday card!

Julie's card featured Christmas bulbs... making sure your holidays are "Merry and Bright"!  We added ink under the light bulbs to give a glowing effect.  Adding the sparkly paper really makes this card pop!

Kathy's creation is a countdown tree!  She picked these fund tinsel trees at the dollar store and we each had 12 punched out pieces that we scored and folded and taped the hook in side along with a piece of chocolate.  We are "Rocking Around the Christmas Tree"

Melani card uses a stems from a plant upside down as strings for ornaments.  We put together three circles to give a 3-D effect.  We also added the bows or loops on the strings.  Super cute card!

Melani provided two cards.  The background is so much fun!  We also used pencil erasers on ink to create the ornaments on the trees.  Another fun 3-D card!  "O Christmas Tree, O Christmas Tree!!"

Roxxy's card is simply fun!!  with the background embossed snow to Santa "Up on the Roof Top" and the light's decorating the house... just makes a lovely Christmas scene.

Shannon's card is filled with Joy!  For the O, we used tree trimming ivy and pop dotted the J and the Y on buffalo plaid paper.  "Joy to the World"  is a wonderful Christmas card.

The next Shoebox cards event (usually held on the first Tuesday of the month) will actually be on Tuesday January 8th.  Looking forward to another year of card creations with these amazing women!  Happy Christmas!

November Shoe Box Cards

And just like that... the holidays are upon us.

Times flies when your having fun!  Shoebox cards are always fun.  Here are the amazing creations for November!!

This card uses a cricut wreath with stamped berries and simple bow wishing Autumn Wishes.  (There were options for both gold and red.)  Many years ago, Kathy brought me a bay berry wreath as a gift and so this card is in honor of her.

Anita wowed us with another beautiful card and shared tips to use markers to color beautiful roses with dimension.  Love the textured dots on the white side and the pink polka dots on the bottom.  This is a very classy card.

Beth's very punny card features raspberry, black and white... love the pearls and the white dots on the black paper!  and the ribbon really adds an elegant touch... The inside says... Full of fiber (clever, she used a label maker to create the punch line)... You're Welcome.  What fun!  We all enjoyed the humor!! Beth is a dietitian:)

Here's Julie's super cute Turkey card.  It's the impossible card with a turkey!  It's so cute!!  The different sized scallop punched cardstock really makes the turkey!  Such a darling card.  What a fun and festive card!

Melani really challenged us with this card... we had to stamp, score, fold, punch, mask,  stamp again... and color.  The thought behind this card was touching... when a friend is down and out, "Best Friends listen to what you don't say"  the greeting changes from thinking of you to hugs.. It's pretty amazing!

Inside

Roxxy treated us to a friend card too... and coloring... Lots of coloring tonight... and that actually helped because there were more coloring supplies available.  This sweet little card features a slate blue card with pop of yellow and a piece of rich colored B&T paper.  It also sports a teal ribbon.  It's a very sweet card.

Shannon shared this fun bubble gum card...  We stamp the bubblegum machine and colored it and cut it out... then stamps the balls and the greeting.  Such a fun card!  There was lots of giggling involved with this card.

We missed Kathy and hope she can make it next month!  The next shoebox cards will be Tuesday, December 4 at 7:00 PM.  Thanks for stopping by to check out our creations!  We love our girls night and are so glad to have Beth join us again!  She fits right in!!

Hello Pumpkin layouts

Hi Everyone,

Always a joy to work on Halloween layouts!  These were particularly fun... probably because stamping was involved.  This kit is Hello Pumpkin.

This is a list of the stamps sets used:
E1032 Typography Alphabet
D1806 Hello Pumpkin Scrapbooking
z4045 Cats and bats Scrapbooking (retired)

Cricut font Arial Bold
Cricut cartridge Artbooking spooky fence

This the hostess club layout.  it uses pattern 8 from the Make It From Your Heart  volume 3 pattern book.  This layout was a lot of fun to create!  The ghosts and cats are stamps from Hello Pumpkin scrapbooking.  Boo is from the retired cats and bats stamp set.

What fun this layout was to put together... zip strips and cricut fence and bits of this and that.  It's a charming layout that will bring a smile to anyone's face:)  This super cute layout was inspired by Brenda Rose.

This bewitching layout is fun and fabulous.  It uses lots of zip strips and the orange stars add a touch a whimsy to this darling layout.  This layout also includes stamping, the web, the spider, the bats and stars as well as the title "good witch".  The word "Fright" is cut from a PML card and Trick or Treat is from the Artbooking Cricut cartridge.  This layout is inspired by Julie Carriere.

It's always fun to add a different look for the kit.  Here's an unexpected layout using the large striped paper.  An extra 1/4 strip of black was added to the top and the bottom to create the look.  It's a fun design and was inspired by Kristin Reiss.

The last layout was fun to mix and match.  This page is decorated using stickers from the complements and a the Marigold Shin Han Marker to color in the stickers.  This simple layout comes together quickly!!

The next Hostess Club will be Tuesday, December 11 and we will be creating layouts featuring Grateful Heart.  Please order your kit by Saturday December 1st and join us as we create at least three layouts using this lovely fall kit.  Doors open at 5:00 PM.  See you soon!!

October Hostess Club Layouts (Boutique)

Hi Everyone!!

Hope you are enjoying the beginning of the fall season!!  Here are the layouts using Boutique!!

This is the hostess club layout.  I love this blue grey color and it pairs really well with eggplant.  The Relax is a stamp from "No Worries"  and the hearts are from the stamp set Happy Heart.  It's a lovely simple layout.  Also, we did stitching on the edge of page using lavendar shinhan marker.  This is a layout from Make It From Your Heart Volume 3, Pattern 16 page 36.  Photos may be laced in the grey area... any configuration that works for you.  The joy pml card comes from the paper pack and can be a flip flap!  Flip flaps are a great way to add extra photos to any layout!

The first layout of the Workshop Your Way is inspired by Chris Robertson.  This rich paper makes a very elegant layout.  There are three PML cards used on this layout, along with silver shimmer trim.  A great time for getting a thing strip of shimmer trim is to use the cutter.  Cut a piece of shimmer trim, removed the backing and place it on the paper trimmer trying to center it... then use the blade to cut up the center.  Also, if both pieces aren't used, move the thin piece to the another place on the trimmer till it's needed.

The second layout is inspired by Maureen O'Sullivan.  This layout is just lovely!  Beautiful Moments is from the complement set and is the perfect words for this great layout.  The light green is actually glacier cardstock.  Again a PML card from the paper pack is used as a flip flap on this layout.

This layout is inspired from Susan Williams Heartstrings layout.  There are so many wonderful colors in this paper pack.  This layout featured saffron and linen.  Sweet is another complement and it's placed on a PML card.  This could also be a great place to add a flip flap.  Also, another thin strip of silver shimmer trim is used on this layout.

Peacock is such a rich color!!  Here's another great layout... Inspired by Kelly Baxter Fitzgerald. The 3x4 photos could easily have flip flaps added for more photos!

The final layout is really one of the most versatile layouts... it is easy to add flip flaps, 4x6, 4x4, 6x12, and the can easily add the pocket plus pages.  The 6x4 polka dot paper, would make a great spot to add a 6x4 horizontal flip flap as well as the light grey under the polka dot paper.  Also, this layout would easily lend itself to other collections.  Another fun thing with this kit, are the puffy stickers.  This layout was inspired by Linda Caler.

The next class will be Tuesday, November 13... doors open at 5:00 PM.  The Workshop Your Way will be Hello Pumpkin.  Please order this kit by October 31.  Come join the fun!!  Want to try it out... come by and do the Hostess Club layout.

October Shoebox Cards

Hi Everyone!

Hope you are enjoying the Fall!!  Even though it's been cold and rainy, here are some things to cheer your spirit!  We had a great time and cards and welcomed a new person!  Beth, we were so excited to have another card person join us!  We hope you join us in November!!

This is a super fun and easy treat bag!  Thanks to Michelle Johns for the inspiration!
This uses the September SOTM Just Treats.  It actually holds quite a bit too.

Here are the quick directions... base 7.5x5.5 and the B&T paper is 3x3 (2).
with the 5.5 at the top of your scoreboard, score at 1 and 4.5
Then with the 7.5 across the top, score at .5 and 4.  Then score to the 1 inch line at 2.25 and 5.75.  Next, score from the 2.25 diagonally down to the 1 inch border on both sides, making a triangle.  Do the same thing on the other side.  (refer to the drawing below).

Then cut away the .5x1 in the top and lower left corners.  cut on the top three score lines (this is actually the bottom)  Next the .5x 3.5 will be the flap.  fold it in and then fold the base in half.  Use liquid glass to adhere.

Now to decorate.  Take the 3x3 and mark the middle (1.5) cut from the middle to the corner on one side and then do it to the other side.  All three pieces are needed to decorate.  Repeat this step with the other piece.  If using two sided paper, you can alternate the patterns.  Next adhere the paper to the appropriate areas.

And now, it's time to work on the base.  Fold the bottom pieces together (2 & 2) use liquid glad to adhere this part too.  It helps to use a scoring tool or a long thin block to help get the base to hold and stay flat.

Next add any decoration or greeting.  The circle worked really well for this.

Anita's fabulous card features fun spider paper.  It's diagonally half of an 8.5x11 sheet of card stock... carefully fold the top down, then finesse the left side in.  (notice that the left side has the base along the bottom.  This allows the card to stand up.  The center has an embossed web (after stamping Happy Halloween) and the spider is cut from a ring.  One other tip that she shared with place the medallion where you want it, lift the card open and draw a line so that adhesive is only put above that line.(adhesive only part of it, so that the card will still open)

We also decorated the inside!!  What fun!

Here is Beth's first card with us!  It's so elegant! The city scene is on watercolor paper and is a little thicker.  We double mounted cardstock for a bit of strength, then we added the pink floral to the edge of the black.  We added the city scene behind the pink frame and then attached the pink frame to the black card base.  We used a marker to color the skirt and shoes of the young lady and then used a waterbrush to pick up some of the marker for the umbrella.  Beth had used a the lady cut out and on a strip of xyron for easy application.  We scribbled the marker on the xyron and used the water brush to pick up the color for the umbrella.  then we added the black strip, starting on the back and folding it over to the front and added our sentiment.  Lovely card Beth!!

Julie's franktastic card has a 3-D element. Here's the front....

and here's the 3-D effect.  She had all the pieces cut and lined up.  It was a little tricky, but I love the Frank cut out in the middle and it almost feels like a book.  We added some super fun ribbon and It's looks great!!

Julie had two cards tonight... This one is a birthday greeting ... She used embossing folders for the half of the card.  This is the perfect embossed for this card!

Layer two... it's important to have put one layer down first and then match the other layer on top.  I love the fall scene with the leaves and the pumpkins.  We added lines for definition.  The inside of the card says happy birthday.

Kathy's card features a fall vignette.  It's a 6x6 card with a fun edge.  We did some direct to paper distressing and used deckle scissors to edge the scenes.  The leave on  top is also distressed and raised with a popdot.  Nice card Kathy!!

Melani's card greets us with black and grey spiders webs.  This was a quick and clean card and the webby paper makes it a little spooky!!

Roxxy's card has a great spooky tree embossed on it.  We stamped the tiny spiders around the edge and added the metallic boo, the ghost and the pumpkin has a metallic piece behind it and is lifted in front of the ghost!  Such a nice card design.  We decorated the inside too, but it didn't photograph well for some reason.

Those are the fabulous October cards!  What a fun night... lots of chatting and giggles!  it was great to have such a nice group!  We did miss our Shannon though!  Come back soon Shannon!!  Join us for the next card night on Tuesday November 6!!

Documented Workshop

Here are the layouts for September, featuring the scrapbook kit, documented...

This first layout is the Hostess Club Layout and features a clean and simple design.  It uses pattern 24 from the Make It From Your Heart volume 3.  We also used PML cards from the kit to add to these pages.  I love the peacock and the pewter color combination.

The first Layout is inspired by Jennifer Smith.  I loved her layout and here is my version of it.  The tricky part is the cut some of the pieces and hide it under the photo strip!  LOVE!!!

I love the brick paper!!  This was such a fun layout inspired by Julie Carriere.  I love the little touches, the camera, the yellow ribbon stickers and love wooden compliment.Super fun layout and adding the dots just add to the fun!!

I love the PML cards and the colors for this amazing kit!  This fabulous layout was inspired by Amy Moore.  Love love love these colors!!

Here's another wonderful layout inspired by Julie Carriere.  Some colors were switched... but it was such a fun layout.  We also added a bit of pink shimmer trim.  What fun!!
