Never too Early...

To start thinking about making Christmas Cards.

It was time to start a new project... so I pulled out the Frosted Card Kit.  Wasn't crazy about the Red and Green... And saw Vicki Wizniuk changing things up, so she inspired me to pull out twilight and Cashmere and loved it! (She used Twilight and Slate).  Both color combos are great... and I would encourage you to experiment too!

Here's the result... It was fun to create different looks based on the original designs.

Working on Lola

Today Lola was calling my name... Here's the third layout for Lola WOTG.  It has some exciting nuances to be pointed out.

The black shimmer tape (Z1809) is amazing and it's a punch of class to this layout... then the Mini-Medley Accents (Z1862) also add a fun unexpected pop.  Mini Medley includes glittery buttons, pins, metal pieces (use glue dots to adhere), sequin strips, and adhesive backed sequins.  The set includes 39 pieces!  Woot woot!

the left page is also designed to use a 8x12 flip

Another product used on this layout is the Stitch Guide (Z1852).  In this layout, the stitch guide was uses to make the little scallops under the shimmer tape on the left page and on the right, it's upward. There is also a swirl at the top right above the photo mat.

The stitch guide creates a small punch using the piercing tool.  I then used the foam mat and the piercing tool to make the holes bigger.  I love the look of the punch without adding thread....

left flip lifted up.
This workshop will be Tuesday September 24th.  Bring your kit and other supplies... workshop starts at 7:00... Reminder that additional papers may be purchased to complete the layout.

September Hostess Club

Hi Hi!  This month's layout is so much fun!  It uses the new ArtBooking Cartridge (if desired) and has a 6x6 flip flap in the design!  There are stamps from the YAMH (you are my happy) National Stamping month Special and the new markers...

The National Stamping Special is when an order reaches $50, then this set of three delightful "D" stamp sets and the September SOTM can be added for an additional $15 (plus shipping and taxes).  Retail value 71.80!!  Woot Woot!
Get all four of these stamp sets for an additional $15 with a $50 purchase!
This is the layout.  It features an artblocking style and can easily be modified to suit different papers and themes.

ArtBooking items are the autumn terracotta word "grateful", the olive vine, the olive leaves and the olive 5.5x5.5 tree overlay. A pencil was used to trace the open leaves and then the markers honey, goldrush, and autumn terracotta were used to color the leaves before the over lay was attached.

The words, "Good times are even better when they are shared" and the butterflies are from the YAMH Stamp set.  The words would look better in chocolate rather than black.

The Tree will be in a flip flap and when it's opened, it will look like this.

Can't wait to see what everyone else comes up with:)  What fun!

The B&T paper is from the Huntington Paper pack.  Other colors used are colonial white, slate, autumn terracotta, olive and cashmere.  Most everything is also sponged with chocolate.  (even the cricut pieces)

Another Star Card

This card is for a young man in my primary class that moved away... the class wanted to send him a we miss you card.

The stars are stamped in black and colored the inside star with dark twilight marker. The white inside measurement is 3.75x5 and the slate is 4x5.25. The stars were stamped at the bottom of the card and then cut out the bottom.  Also, Washi tape was added for fun!!

Enjoy.

A Different Look... YAMH

So ... I have been hanging out in the pinks and purples and Laughing Lola with this fabulous set.  So it's time to switch things up and try something different! That's right it's time to walk on the dark side...

Slate grey is an amazing backdrop for this more masculine card sporting chocolate, slate, ponderosa pine and outdoor denim stars.  Also the Washi tape is fun elements on this card.

Hmmm.. wonder what other color this might look good too... Enjoy!  Wonder what tomorrow will bring.

Lovin Lola and You Are My Happy...

Time for another quick card or two for using this fun combo!  Laughing Lola is an amazing kit!

These two quick cards were mad with stuff just sitting on my table!  How fun is that.  It's a regular card (4.25x5.5) and a 3x3 card.

This card features the funky flower stamped in black, and honey, cotton candy and gypsy markers.  The flowers have a sparkle in the center.  The sentiment is only the top word of the stamp set.

Love this quick 3x3 card... the strips are 3/4x2 3/4, added a bit of a zip strip and added the white strip under the bling to make them the pop.  The star is also pop dotted.  May add a bit of black hemp to this card... just for fun...

What can you create with items from your desk top?  (yes, it's probably time to clean off my desk... but then I won't be able to find anything... tee hee).

Butterflies Make me Happy

This stamp set is so much fun!  Here's another quick card using Laughing Lola!

Light coloring with cotton candy and gypsy dark markers. Notice the Zip strip near the bottom.  The Zip Strips create a quick and easy border on this lovely  card.  Love this scalloped punch... have you tried it?

September Shoebox Card night

What a fabulous night!  Such a great selection of cards and fun was had.  We missed a couple of the regulars... Deborah and Roxxy...

Thanks to Anita for bringing your Crack Crackers... they were amazing!  Dulce shared her garden's produce and brought pickled carrots, cucumelons and peppers!  And what fall festival would be complete without Peanuts and candy corn!

Anita Started us off with a delightful Man's card. It's a sharp design with perfect colors for any guy!
Anita's card
Next Melani was up with a fun garage sale find!  Lot's of flutterby's!! Fun fall colors and whimsy.
Melani's card
Then came my cards... the first one was a 3x3 that required a little bit of cutting and it may look familiar because it's been posted before.. but they wanted to know how to do it!
Diane's 3x3
The second card I created was a lot of fun and uses the September Special Stamp set!! Woot Woot!
You make me happy stamp sets
Dulce's card was really intricate and is a lovely card.  Definitely a fall feeling card!
Dulce precut all of the little triangles
Dixie's card was an elegant wedding card with a fun edge.  She cut the paper just right so that the ends would be just right! and we used chalk to color it in:)
Dixie's creation
And Lori joined us after a significant absent!  Glad to have her back:) And she designed two cards for us... the first one is a lovely sympathy card sporting ovals.
Lori's number one card
and because she had been MIA for a while, she opted to design a second one, using a garage sale find and pinwheel leftovers!  Love your thrifty nature Lori!!!
Lori's number two:)
Then Dulce said, it's early... I have some fun things to play with... and she dumped her bag of washi tape on the table, and gave us extra large index cards and said have fun! Anita requested some background stamps and oh my did the creativity fly!

The following are my creations using the various Washi tape

Dixie inspired this one.

This one is totally mine...

I copied Anita's design
We Laughed, We Stamped, We Created!!! Vini  Vidi Vichi... or something like that!  Thanks everyone for sharing your time and your talents.

You Are My Happy Artwork

This was a blast creating this project... using the September Constant Campaign set "You Are My Happy!!"

It's being used in conjunction with the Laughing Lola paper kit as that is the feature kit this month.  I wanted to create a layout using the 8x12 flip flap and found this paper pack a perfect kit to work with!

12x12 Laughing Lola layout will become part of the WOTG Class
So here is the first half of the layout... with the flap closed... it's not in a flip flap yet, but you get the idea. I love this bright paper...

8x12 flap is open
So here it is open... Love this double sided paper...

Close up of the flower, the bracket and the font
and here it's easy to see the Whimsical Alpha bet... Luv it!  It stamps so clean and easy!  Luv it!  Oops... did I say it again... LOL... guess I really like it:)

The flowers were stamped in archival black... allowing them to dry before adding the markers.  One great tip when stamping images on cricut piece, put the white image on a darker piece of cardstock for easier stamping and better centering.

Markers used are honey, gypsy, cotton candy, and twilight.

Another side note, I colored outside the line of the stamp and thought it added a little more whimsy and maybe a little more dimension.  How fun is that!!!  The gypsy flowers are glued to the base and the colored flowers we lifted up with dimensional tape.

The icons stamp set has 15 images that are fun and five of them are images that can be cut out using the Art Philosophy cartridge.  The flowers were cut using the cricut.  It's wonderful that the carrier sheets have the size and page number (and cartridge) for ease!  The White flowers are cut at 1.5 and the purple flowers are cut at 1.75.

The alpha stamp set has upper and lower case, numbers and four punctuation marks.  (67 stamps in all).

The Sentiments are not used on this layout and there are nine fun phrases included on that.  Photos to come!
