Beary Christmas Layouts

Oh my what fun we had doing these layouts!  Always so grateful for the artists with CTMH who share their amazing talents!!  These layouts turned out amazing!!

The first layout is the layout for Hostess Club. It's from the new Make it from Your Heart volume 3 pattern 5.  We added a 4x4 flip flap and a PML card from the kit.  Sweet and simple and lovely!!

This fabulous layout was inspired from Vicki Wizniuk.  I loved the color combination and used more PML cards and add some flip flaps as desired.  The white inserts have also been sponged to add some depth.  It turned out so beautiful.

And here is the Beary Christmas layout.. featuring fun "Christmas Bears".  This lovely layout was inspired by Tina Lovell.  It was fun to do and made me giggle while doing it!!  The embellishments really make this layout!

This JOLLY layout was inspired by Brenda Rose.  It's a great layout.  The color combination makes this layout quite festive.  Another great layout!

This FUN layout really caught my eye.  Thanks to Kelly Baxter-Fitzgerald for her inspiration.  I love the red theme and the light touches of green.  It feels so festive!!

This quick and fun layout was posted on the make it from your heart blog. It's also pattern 5 in the Make it from Your Heart volume 3 book.  Also used the October SOTM.  What a fun and festive layout.  Merry Christmas was cut out on the CTMH Artiste Cricut cartridge.

There's still a lot of paper left over... plenty for Christmas cards!!  Which is your favorite layout?  Let me know if you have any questions!  Join us for the next class, Tuesday January 9.  We will be working on the Silver and Gold kit.  Please order your kit by December 30.  Doors open at 5:00 PM!  Hope to have you join us!!

keep scrapping!!

December Shoebox Cards

Hi Everyone!!

Can you believe it's December already.  Time seems to be flying by!!  Here are the December Creations!!

My card is a gift card holder using a library pocket for the gift card.
** This has been updated from the card class.
Using 4.25 x 11 cardstock, Score the top at 2.5 inches and then fold it and score at 5.5 inches.
Cover the top (2.25x4) and the bottom (2.75x4) There will be a little overlap.  Next fold the pocket using tear tape (or strong tape) and cut off the top to 3 inches, (you may do 2.75 so that it's covered on the inside) using tear tape on the front of the pocket.  Add it to the center of the lower flap.  This is the gift card holder.

Inside the card has been updated since the class.  I covered both flaps (especially the pocket part.  I also added a poinsettia inside.

Here is the original card inside that we did at club.  To the right is the pocket that will hold the gift card.  Note where the pocket is located... consider cutting the pocket to 2.75 to be totally hidden by the cover up paper.  I think the addition of the paper inside makes it brighter.

Julie's lovely card is one big stamp in blue and then we put spray adhesive on the card and attached a used dryer sheet and trim.  Next, rub in a container with a little bit of glitter.  (use sparingly) The glitter should attach to the spray glue. This was a fun technique and really had a nice effect that was hard to capture in this photo!  Great Card!!

Shannon's Fun Card... we stamped the background (there was also an option of another background stamp set in the bright green) and the greeting is washi tape!  What a fun and festive card!  The twine at the top adds a bit of whimsy!   What a fun card!!

Melani's card features a favorite Christmas tune and a "scrappy" tree.  Great way to use bits and pieces and so very festive.  In the words of the card, "Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas!"  Melani also brought Christmas tree brownies that were super cute and and fun!  Thanks for sharing the treats!!!  They were super festive!!

Our next class will be Tuesday January 2nd.  Come join us for a night of fun and creativity!!  We start at 7:00 PM. And a reminder of our Christmas party that will be Tuesday, December 19 at 7:00 PM.  Bring a homemade gift to exchange, Christmas cards to exchange and a treat to share.  It will be super fun!  Hope to see you there!!

November Hostess Club

Hi Everyone!!

Just finished Falling for you and what gorgeous layouts!!  Here's what we did!

The Hostess club layout is the first layout and was inspired by Jennifer Smith.  We used some older colors to complete this layout... Autumn Terracotta and Olive...and it really works with this layout.  The pumpkin in the lower right hand corner is a flip flap. We also used both the falling for you cardmaking stampset and the scrapbooking stampset.  We used the scrapbooking stampset on the Autumn Terracotta to add depth and pattern to the cardstock.  We also used the diecut leaves to add some leaves on the photo mats.

I fell in love with Jennifer Smith's layouts for this kit.... so she also inspired the second layout.  Funny... last month, I was telling someone that we rarely stamped on the layouts anymore and this layout also uses the stamping.  We used the September Stamp of the month... Feel So Blessed.  (I have a couple of extra of these if anyone is interested).  Beautiful layout!!

This layout is pretty quick and is very lovely... The patterned paper can easily be flipped and used the other side as well, so check it out and see which one you like better.  I also appreciated the craft cardstock on this layout as photo mats.  Count Your Blessings is also a flip flap. Thanks to Doreen Watkins for her inspiration with this layout!

One of my favorite things about this layout is the use of the PML cards.  It is also very photo oriented.  Love a layout with lots of photos!!  Again... this layout was inspired by Jennifer Smith! Such a lovely layout!!

And this last layout has a different feel about it.... but I totally love it.  My thoughts for this page is that often, families do a photo shoot in the fall... so I envisioned a family photo in the big photo, the parents in the photo to the left of the large photo and individual shots on the following page.

So, in December, we will be creating layouts using Beary Christmas.  It looks like a fun kit!  Hostess Club in December meets on Tuesday December 12. Please place your order for the kit by Friday December 1.  Doors open at 5:00 PM.  Hope to see you there!

Crops... There will be two crops in December ... One on December 9 and one on December 30.  LMK if you plan to attend either of those!  Have a great Thanksgiving Everyone!!

November Shoebox Cards

Hi Everyone,

Here are the card creations for November!!  My card was inspired by Valarie Kapsha... her card was red, but I love love love Blue... so here's my version of her card.  We also used the snowflake embossing folder.  It's a quick card for someone who has a lot of cards to make and sent out!

Anita gave us a two-fer!!  This sweet snowman is about three inches tall and folds in half for a cute tag.  We punched a hole in the scarf and added a bit of yarn.  I colored mine with chalks.  Super cute and Anita is the Queen of Tags!!

Here is her lovely card... though mine doesn't do it justice... it's a lovely winter scene with layers of trees on a hill.  The Merry Christmas and the ribbon make this an elegant card.  We also added glitter mist!!  Lovely lovely card.

Julie's card this month is a door with an autumn wreath. I love how the big brad really looks like a door knob.  The door and the card base are the same color, so we added some chalk to give it dimension.  Just a classy card!

Melani showed us how to make a turkey card.  It's so cute and fun!  She had the beak and the warbler as well as the eyes cut for us.. we did have to cut our own worry lines though.  The inside says, "Gobble Till You Wobble!"  What a fun fun card!!

And just for fun... I had an extra card.  I just really liked this stamp set, so I did another card with it.  This one was inspired by Carrie Simmonds.  I offered two versions, one was watercolor and one was chalked.  Also used the water colors to splatter on it and rounded the corner. And... we masked one feather to stamp the other.  Loved this card and had to make it!!

Details for our Annual Christmas Party:
We will meet for Shoebox cards on Tuesday, December 5th

Then, on Tuesday, December 19 at 7:00 PM join us for our 3rd annual Christmas party.  Please bring one wrapped homemade gift for a gift exchange and also, hand made cards to exchange.
Please bring a dessert or appetizer to share.
We look forward to this event all year long!  See you then!

September Hostess Club... Jack

Hey Everyone!!

Here's our September Workshop featuring Jack!  It was a fun kit to work with!  So masculine! And perfect for an active little man!!

This First layout was inspired by Kelly Baxter-Fitzgerald and we added in an older B&T paper and it turned out wonderful!!the pops of green and red help to brighten up this color pallet!  What a fun layout!

This next layout uses the grey plaid which quickly became one of my favorite papers in this kit.  It was fun to use stickers to embellish this quick and simple layout, that has lots of photos.  Thanks to Laura Fairbrother for the inspiration with this wonderful layout.

Here's another great layout using the bright red and black papers of Jack.  Not necessarily a fan of the bearded lumberjack paper... this layout changed my opinion!  I love it!!  This layout is another one inspired by Laura Fairbrother!

Love this color pallet of greys, black and juniper.  The Hello sticker just pops on the wide black dove tailed cardstock. It was very cool to use scraps of PML cards and other papers to tie in the them paper, in a very subtle way. Another amazing layout inspired by Laura Fairbrother.

This last layout was really quite fun to layer the circles and add them as an embellishment.  It's quite a versatile layout and could be used for almost anything.  This layout was inspired by Jennifer Smith!

These are fabulous layouts!  It's fun to sit with friends and recreate these layouts.  Come join us for the next event.  Hostess Club/WYW (Workshops Your Way) happen on the Second Tuesday of the month.  We have a kit that we work on each month.  In November we will be working on Falling For You.  Join us on Tuesday, November 14.  Doors open at 5:00 PM.  If you want to order Falling for you... do so by Friday, November 3rd so it will be here by workshop time.

October Hostess Club featuring Cats and Bats

Hi everyone!!

Cats and Bats was a lot of fun to work with!!  But I really had to work at coming up with Halloween layouts, because it is so very versatile.

This is the hostess club layout!  It was inspired by Janel Brinkerhoff!  It's a fun fall layout and leaf is cut from Flower Market Cartridge on page 19 (O).  Her pumpkins are square and I loved them, but I opted to take a corner rounder to them and sponged the leaves.

Here's the first Halloween layout we did.  It was so much fun!  We used a marker to add a pop of orange to the layout. This fabulous layout was inspired by Kathy Burrows.  Love it!!

Here's another great Halloween layout that was inspired by Chris Robertson.  It uses a couple of the PML cards and has a great assortment of papers on it.  It was fun to create.  Still needs a title... but using the cricut that will be easy to add.

Here's another great layout that uses a lot of the compliments from the Cats and Bats kit!  It was another great fresh Halloween layout.  This was inspired by Sandra VanNostrand and it was so much fun to do.

This layout is a quickie.... it uses three PML cards that I will use as flip flaps.  I used Art Philosophy to cut out the pennants, and what fun they added to the page.  This layout was inspired by Kelly Baxter-Fitzgerald.  I highly recommend this fun layout!!

And here are the non Halloween layouts!!

There were so many great layouts... it was hard to pick and choose.  Here are some of my favorites.  This first one features the emerald colored paper and was inspired by Kelly Monitor.  I loved the use of the pml card along with the addition of the black diagonal striped paper. Love this layout!!

This next layout uses the same papers, but adds a pop of thistle!  It's a delightful color combination and perfect layout for a girls night out!!  This layout was inspired by Bonnie Tullo!  It's just so sweet!!

I love love love this party layout!  Willow is such an wonderful color and it's so fun with the black glitter stars and black shimmer trim.  I did trim the shimmer trim in half for this layout.  This super fun layout was inspired by Sandra VanNostrand.

We had a lot of fun creating these layouts and hope you will try them! Which one is your favorite?  Join us in November as we use Falling for you!!

Please order your kits by November 3rd if you would like to attend.

October Shoebox Cards

Hi Everyone!!  Hope you are enjoying a lovely Fall Season!!

Here are our amazing October Creations!!

I have been casing this card inspired by Liz Johnson for a long time... had to order the leaf embossing plate because I loved it so much!!  It's using the September SOTM and chalks. One side note, as I was pulling out the embossing powder to emboss the feathers and grateful, I found the gold netting just laying there... so it was added to the card along with a green ribbon to tie it together.  Chalk was used as a coloring

Tis Frank-Tober!!  LOL!!  Anita knows that I am a Frank Freak and so she likes to come up with a fun Frank card!  This year's card is Frank-tastic!!  LOL!! Love the Frank in a jar!!  And love the silver top!!  The Spider has a green eerie gem on it too.  Great Card Anita!!

Julie's sweet card is a fall window scene and is a lovely greeting for fall.  She offered a variety of backgrounds and we colored it in... Using colored pencils, chalks and markers for an elegant look.  Love how the layers really added to this card.  Nice card Jules!!

Melani's card had us going gaga!!  This card sports it's own present!  Amazingly enough, it's very simple.  The box is 6x6 and scored at 2 all the way around and then cut opposite sides and fold together and attach them on each side.  the lid is a 3x3 and scored at 1/2 inch all the way around.  Again, cut opposite score lines and fold.. secure them loosely so that it will fit the box.  Fold the card, put the fold at the top of the cutter and left side of the card at 5 inches.  Cut down 1.5 inches.  Slide the card to 3 inches and cut down 1.5 inches.  Now fold that piece back and forth a the bottom of the cut.  Then invert.  That's where the present fits. Decorate as desired.  (Note this works better as a hand delivered card.  Wow!  Great card Melani!!

Shannon shared a flower punch that we could turn into monsters.  She gave us fun backgrounds and a layer and just let us play... She has lots of fun samples for us to see and me being the Frank Freak that I am, I created Mr and Mrs Frank!!  What Fun!!

And so ends another great card night!  Love chatting and creating with these amazing ladies!!  The next class will be Tuesday, November 7 at 7:00!! And we will plan the Christmas party as well!!

September Shoebox Cards

Hi everyone!!

Wow this month snuck up on me!!  Happy Fall!!  Enjoy our creations!!

This is my card, using the current Constant Campaign From the heart card kit.  The layering is really nice and beautiful.  Lovely stamp set!!

Anita's fun Birthday card is perfect for anyone!!  Who doesn't love balloons!!  We also made an envelope for this card that was Anita's own creation!  Thank you for sharing it with us!

Julie's card was super fun to make...  and loved that we used Anita's smiley face that was brought for the balloons, on this card too!!  It's a 4x5 card that telescopes.

Here it is open!!

Melani's card is super cute and fun!  Love the minions!!

Here's Shannon's fun creation... it was from a leftover kit and we all had similar pieces, but all created something different.  She brought the embossing folder and the extra leaves and the twine.  I love this fun card!!

We missed a couple of our regulars, Kathy is traveling and Roxxy is attending classes on Tuesday and Thursday evenings now. The next Shoebox cards will be Tuesday October 3 at 7:00 PM.  Hope to see you there!

Prickly Pear

Hi everyone!!

This summer has flown by!!

We had great fun creating layouts using CTMH Prickly Pear Workshop Your Way!!  It was not one of my favorites, but The layouts are just amazing!!

PS this kit is only available through August 31st!!  So hurry up and place your order!!

This is the hostess club layout and it is based on Make it From Your Heart (MIFYH) volume III.  This is Pattern 2 and uses bulk paper. It's a quick and easy layout... easy to swap colors and even add more to it.  It would be fun to put some shimmer trim on the side cactus papers...  and even a big cactus would be fun to put on the page.

Tina Lovell is such an inspiration.  I love love love this layout.  I love the combination of blues and greens and the sea glass and emerald.  It's such a happy layout out!!

This layout is inspired by Liz Johnson!  She shared her version on facebook the day I was working on this for club.  It was so light and fun... I had to try it!  I love how it came out!!

This is another great layout!  It's quick and fun and festive!!  This lovely layout was inspired by Laura Fairbrother!!  I love the little details that really make this layout pop! (Side note, Theresa did some flipping of papers and they looked great!!)

This is another layout inspired by Laura Fairbrother!! I love that this paper layout looks so amazingly different from the other layout.  I love the flowers and the orangey freshness to it.

And the last layout... for now anyway... uses the rainbow paper that is so bright and fun!  This layout is inspired from Susan Williams!  and it has fun written all over it!!  The best day is a 4x6 flip flap.  The white part on the very right is actually three 3.5x3.5 photos.

These are all great layouts and were fun to do!!  Hope you will try them!!

Our next class will be Tuesday, September 12 and will feature Jack WYW.  If you want to join us, please place the order by 8-31-17.  The new Holiday Expressions is here!  LMK if you want your copy!!
