September Hostess Club... Jack

Hey Everyone!!

Here's our September Workshop featuring Jack!  It was a fun kit to work with!  So masculine! And perfect for an active little man!!

This First layout was inspired by Kelly Baxter-Fitzgerald and we added in an older B&T paper and it turned out wonderful!!the pops of green and red help to brighten up this color pallet!  What a fun layout!

This next layout uses the grey plaid which quickly became one of my favorite papers in this kit.  It was fun to use stickers to embellish this quick and simple layout, that has lots of photos.  Thanks to Laura Fairbrother for the inspiration with this wonderful layout.

Here's another great layout using the bright red and black papers of Jack.  Not necessarily a fan of the bearded lumberjack paper... this layout changed my opinion!  I love it!!  This layout is another one inspired by Laura Fairbrother!

Love this color pallet of greys, black and juniper.  The Hello sticker just pops on the wide black dove tailed cardstock. It was very cool to use scraps of PML cards and other papers to tie in the them paper, in a very subtle way. Another amazing layout inspired by Laura Fairbrother.

This last layout was really quite fun to layer the circles and add them as an embellishment.  It's quite a versatile layout and could be used for almost anything.  This layout was inspired by Jennifer Smith!

These are fabulous layouts!  It's fun to sit with friends and recreate these layouts.  Come join us for the next event.  Hostess Club/WYW (Workshops Your Way) happen on the Second Tuesday of the month.  We have a kit that we work on each month.  In November we will be working on Falling For You.  Join us on Tuesday, November 14.  Doors open at 5:00 PM.  If you want to order Falling for you... do so by Friday, November 3rd so it will be here by workshop time.

October Hostess Club featuring Cats and Bats

Hi everyone!!

Cats and Bats was a lot of fun to work with!!  But I really had to work at coming up with Halloween layouts, because it is so very versatile.

This is the hostess club layout!  It was inspired by Janel Brinkerhoff!  It's a fun fall layout and leaf is cut from Flower Market Cartridge on page 19 (O).  Her pumpkins are square and I loved them, but I opted to take a corner rounder to them and sponged the leaves.

Here's the first Halloween layout we did.  It was so much fun!  We used a marker to add a pop of orange to the layout. This fabulous layout was inspired by Kathy Burrows.  Love it!!

Here's another great Halloween layout that was inspired by Chris Robertson.  It uses a couple of the PML cards and has a great assortment of papers on it.  It was fun to create.  Still needs a title... but using the cricut that will be easy to add.

Here's another great layout that uses a lot of the compliments from the Cats and Bats kit!  It was another great fresh Halloween layout.  This was inspired by Sandra VanNostrand and it was so much fun to do.

This layout is a quickie.... it uses three PML cards that I will use as flip flaps.  I used Art Philosophy to cut out the pennants, and what fun they added to the page.  This layout was inspired by Kelly Baxter-Fitzgerald.  I highly recommend this fun layout!!

And here are the non Halloween layouts!!

There were so many great layouts... it was hard to pick and choose.  Here are some of my favorites.  This first one features the emerald colored paper and was inspired by Kelly Monitor.  I loved the use of the pml card along with the addition of the black diagonal striped paper. Love this layout!!

This next layout uses the same papers, but adds a pop of thistle!  It's a delightful color combination and perfect layout for a girls night out!!  This layout was inspired by Bonnie Tullo!  It's just so sweet!!

I love love love this party layout!  Willow is such an wonderful color and it's so fun with the black glitter stars and black shimmer trim.  I did trim the shimmer trim in half for this layout.  This super fun layout was inspired by Sandra VanNostrand.

We had a lot of fun creating these layouts and hope you will try them! Which one is your favorite?  Join us in November as we use Falling for you!!

Please order your kits by November 3rd if you would like to attend.

October Shoebox Cards

Hi Everyone!!  Hope you are enjoying a lovely Fall Season!!

Here are our amazing October Creations!!

I have been casing this card inspired by Liz Johnson for a long time... had to order the leaf embossing plate because I loved it so much!!  It's using the September SOTM and chalks. One side note, as I was pulling out the embossing powder to emboss the feathers and grateful, I found the gold netting just laying there... so it was added to the card along with a green ribbon to tie it together.  Chalk was used as a coloring

Tis Frank-Tober!!  LOL!!  Anita knows that I am a Frank Freak and so she likes to come up with a fun Frank card!  This year's card is Frank-tastic!!  LOL!! Love the Frank in a jar!!  And love the silver top!!  The Spider has a green eerie gem on it too.  Great Card Anita!!

Julie's sweet card is a fall window scene and is a lovely greeting for fall.  She offered a variety of backgrounds and we colored it in... Using colored pencils, chalks and markers for an elegant look.  Love how the layers really added to this card.  Nice card Jules!!

Melani's card had us going gaga!!  This card sports it's own present!  Amazingly enough, it's very simple.  The box is 6x6 and scored at 2 all the way around and then cut opposite sides and fold together and attach them on each side.  the lid is a 3x3 and scored at 1/2 inch all the way around.  Again, cut opposite score lines and fold.. secure them loosely so that it will fit the box.  Fold the card, put the fold at the top of the cutter and left side of the card at 5 inches.  Cut down 1.5 inches.  Slide the card to 3 inches and cut down 1.5 inches.  Now fold that piece back and forth a the bottom of the cut.  Then invert.  That's where the present fits. Decorate as desired.  (Note this works better as a hand delivered card.  Wow!  Great card Melani!!

Shannon shared a flower punch that we could turn into monsters.  She gave us fun backgrounds and a layer and just let us play... She has lots of fun samples for us to see and me being the Frank Freak that I am, I created Mr and Mrs Frank!!  What Fun!!

And so ends another great card night!  Love chatting and creating with these amazing ladies!!  The next class will be Tuesday, November 7 at 7:00!! And we will plan the Christmas party as well!!
