February Shoebox Cards

Hi Everyone... 

Well, our numbers were small due to the great storm... that really wasn't... Thanks to those who ventured out and joined us!  And we were excited to have a guest as well!  Thanks for joining us Cindy:)

Here's our creations for the night!!

Sympathy card

this card featured the colors whisper, slate and twilight.  the stamp sets used are C1559 always grateful (tree), D1544 distressed backgrounds (burlap texture) and C1524 Words of comfort (words) and washi tape

Valentine

How fun is this... background dust that has heart in it, washi tape, and the words be mine... Lovely... 

mine was done horizontally but others did it vertically...

Who knew what a 8.5 x 8.5 square of white cardstock could become.  First we created the envelope by marking our paper at 3.25, then turn the paper a quarter turn and mark at 5.25.  Then score between those two marks. repeat on the opposite sides creating the longer flap.  

Next put the short edge at 2.5 and score... (lines will overlap) and then do the other side.  Cut out the corners, round corner and cut a 1.5 inch slit about 1.5 from the fold. and decorate as desired.

Some retired stamps were used  to embellish (D1193 vintage valentine, C1441 Affection, and C1473 remarkable wreath.) Ink used is Cotton Candy.  

Also, used the download and created the mini cards.  This might be my hubby's card this year:)

Frosted WOTG

Hi Gang!  

January is the perfect month to work on the Frosted WOTG!  I love love love this set!  Here's what we created with the this past Tuesday night...

inspired by Pamela Thorn

Love the stampset for this workshop on the go as it many of the images can be used in conjunction with the Artiste cartridge.  We stamped the snow flake in whisper and then stamped the six pointed star in twilight, cut it out and attached it to the snowflake.  (note, when stamping a circut image, try putting a darker piece of cardstock under it for easier alignment.)

CTMH stickease is a great way to add  easy embellishment.  CTMH designs the stickease and complements and accents to coordinate wonderfully with each kit!  And when there are left overs, they are fun to add to cards as well!  Use them up!!

Happy Accident... I really liked the snowman sticker, but it looked small in the space and so I put it on a scrap of colonial white ... but then, it didn't stand out because it the background was colonial white.  Then I found a piece of slate that had the edge punched... and it was perfect... just cut it to size.

Exciting Things ....

in the New Idea Book...

so, while waiting for my order of new things to come in, let's wander thru the new idea book...

There are two fun Card kits (pages 74-75)... Ivy Lane and Lollydoodle card making kit... each kit has three different designs and enough supplies to make five cards of each design.  They include papers and coordinating cardstock, 15 cards and envelopes, instructional brochure, shimmer trim, coordinating stamp set and sequin assortment.  All that for just 24.95!  It's a great deal and easy to do!

On pages 80-83 there are new base and bling options!! There's a base and bling chain, it's a 30 inch chain in faux antiqued silver or gold, then your choice of square or circle pendants, glass covers and charms and style sheets.  Oh the fun designs these will be... you will want to have a couple pendants (or more) to go with your mood!  and new textiles too, skylark and jubilee...

There are lots of new stamp sets, including buggy love, country born, flight of the arrows, oodles of doodles, robot family, LOL, big top, and a couple of new alphabets: Hopscotch and Marquee.

And new minis!!!  (p119) I love the minis.  There are eight new minis called, newlyweds, perfect polkadot day, balloons, shooting star, good job stencil, parasol, hi, and colored egg.  Woot woot!  Can't wait to get them all.

New OLD (p120-121)stamps from Jeanette's Archive include Happy Hive, Coming up Roses, Friendly thoughts and Flower Confetti.

January Hostess Club

Hi Hi!  what a fun layout!  

For Hostess Club, we created a movie night layout using the Artiste Cartridge... the Movie and the film strip are set at fit to page and the popcorn box is cut from the box... and we added strips to make it look like a popcorn box... We also used the ribbon roses as popcorn and sponged crem brulee on them.

Special thanks to Tami who ran the cricut and kept things humming!
