January Hostess Club Oh Deer!!

Oh the weather outside was frightful on the Tuesday night of hostess club... and the following rescheduling of hostess club, so here are the wonderful "Oh Deer" layouts!!

This first layout is our hostess club layout.  We used the fun snowflake embossing folder and the winter thin cut. We also used the Color of the Year... Sea Glass.  This layout was inspired by Laura Ryan.  It's pretty sweet and simple.

This paper packet was a lot of fun and very easy to work with.  This quick and lovely layout was inspired by Michelle Snyder.  There are some slight changes as I like a little Sea Glass as an accent.  And I love the world Joy on the banner!!

Layout #2 was also inspired by Michelle Snyder.  I love the Picture My Life cards included with the paper packet!!  This one features the trees and one with reindeer that the bottom was cut off of.  The stickers are a must with this kit!!

Layout #3 was inspired by Jennifer Kelly.  I love the stamped images of the kids feeding the deer.  Also loved using my new cricut cartridge Flower cart for the pine trees... they are 3.5 and 4 inches.  Also this layout will include  a 4x6 flip flap and two 3x5 flip flaps.  I love love love this layout!!

The fourth layout was inspired by Tamytha Jenkins.  The red in this pack really threw me off... and then I saw this amazing layout and knew this would be quite an unexpected layout with this kit.  And it's been a while since the old embossing powders have been used... and they add such an elegance.

I really enjoyed working with Oh Deer!!  Too bad the weather was crappy!!

In February, we will meet on Tuesday February 14th and the doors will open at 5:00 PM.  We will be working with the kit Hello Lovely.

Let me know if you would like to come so there we can order a kit for you!!

January ShoeBox cards

Hey Everyone!!  Welcome back!!  We had a small group in January... but here are our wonderful creations!!

My card uses washi tape and a couple of layers... it's amazing what layering does to a card!!  it really just elevates it.  Thanks is a thin cut and the tag is cut from the cricut and been raised.  And it's always nice to add some bling...

Anita's amazing card is just delightful... the white is embossed with a criss cross pattern, with a heart in the middle.  We added hearts to the green stems, a lovely tag and gold accents... the ribbon, the heart brad and three gold sequins.  It's a lovely card with some amazing attention to the details!!

Anita gave us a two-fer tonight... using punch art... she received a cute card in the mail and wanted to share it with us.  the scalloped flowers were embossed with a swirl folder, the legs were punched using a slit punch, the hearts were a punch and she gave us a pattern fro the hill which we sponged a bit to give it some textured.  We also sponged clouds in the background from a cloud template.  We also cut out the faces from a flower punch and added some googly eyes!! What fun!!

Julie's beautiful card is all decked out for a winter birthday greeting!!  it's an 8x8 piece of cardstock, scored at four one way and then cut at four perpendicular to the score, then fold the two squares diagonally.  Add two 4x4 greetings and a raised sentiment on the bottom to help the greetings stand.  What a fun design and a beautiful card!!

Kathy got a new toy after Christmas... a new sidekick and so we used her new toy to create this fabulous card!  There are feathers embossed in the background, and then we stamped the feathers and used her sidekick to cut them out.  She also had pre-beaded the bling for us and tied a bow with the twine.  Really a beautiful card.

Here's Shannon's  Sparkly tribute to the new year!  We stamped the background, added some silver glitter washi tape and trimmed the blue glitter washi tape in half and added it to the top of the silver... then we added some sparkle with glitter gel to the greeting!  Not only is it pretty, but we had fun making it too!!

The next Shoe Box card night will be Tuesday February 7th at 7:00 PM!!  Hope to have everyone back at our next meeting!!

December Hostess Club ... City Sidewalks

Hi Everyone!!

Hope that you had an amazing Christmas!!

Here's our Christmas Layouts using CTMH City Sidewalks.

This is the Hostess club layout!!  We used lots of the thin cuts!!  What a fun layout!!  (it uses the bulk paper and cardstock)

I love love love this layout... It was inspired by Lori Symank and Nickie Hoffer.  I had intended to use the back side of the dark blue, (which was stripes) but when I went to glue it, I liked that side better and so it morphed into this fabulous layout!!
I love blue and green together.

This layout is so sweet and  simple.  and I love the additions of the snowflakes and the washi tape.  Again, blue and green and silver.. so nice!!

The last layout is one of my favorites... (we used the leftover white square, from a snowflake from the first layout).  This layout just exudes Holiday Cheer!

What a fun kit!!  Consider joining us!!  We always have at least four layouts.  and we have a fun time doing it.

January class is supposed to be Tuesday January 10, but the weather was kind of nasty... so we will be meeting Tuesday January 17

In February we will meet on Tuesday February 14th and we will be working on Hello Lovely... a new kit in the new book!!

Stay warm!!  Spring is just around the corner!!

December Shoebox Cards

Hey everyone!!

Thanks for being patient... have has some computer issues but my hubby came up with a work around!!  Yeah!!

So here are our amazing creations from December!!

My card features the Snowflake thin cuts on Sapphire paper... with white embossed snowflakes on the white layer as well the words.. Tis the Season to Sparkle!  Simple and clean!!

Anita, aka OA... Over Achiever, share these amazing tags with us!!  here's a group shot and then there are individual shots.  My favorite is the snowman!!

We did this on first and it's my favorite!  She had everything cut out for us so it went quite fast... but we did have to cut off the nose.. as the original was a side view... love that we were able to transform it!!  The front view is fantastic.

The second tag was this adorable Santa tag and we punched out the star and saved the outside for another tag.  We trimmed the sides and added the beard (scalloped circle) and stamped a nice greeting.

The third tag was a mitten and we traced a pattern on two sided paper and then also traced two cuffs... so that the tag would look great from either side.  We also added hearts, puff ribbon and gems.
(note.. both sides are photographed.)

The final two were Mr. and Mrs. Claus.  We used a pop top for his belt and punched out little peppermint candies for her buttons and used an oval scalloped punch for her collar and used the remnants of the star punch out for her belt.  and the red striped twine is perfect for these fun tags.

Julie taught us this amazing chimney card... with Santa's legs coming out of the chimney!  So cute and it folds up to fit in a regular sized card envelope.  Honestly, the hardest thing about this was cutting the snow for the chimney top!  Fun card Julie!!

Kathy's card we had to do in stages... first we did the red layer... and we used some kind of paint, not sure what it was... but we had to splatter it on the paper, then use the straw to blow the wet paint around... wait for it to dry, then we did the green like the red... then we colored the poinsettia in the star and added the words.  Kathy loves to share new techniques with us!  This would make a fun birthday or new years card too!!  Thanks Kat!!  You always get our creative juices flowing.

Next is Lori... and she really had us wondering as she gave us each a piece of foil.  She had all of the pieces cut for us the car and the tree... then she had us squirt a little glue on the foil and I got really curious.  then she passed out the itty bitty tires... and we used the glue to put them on.  Loved that the card mimicked the paper!  And thanks for always keeping us guessing!!

Last month Roxxy helped us create an owl using the middle circle and she was so excited to share another idea with us for this month using the same set. And she used glitter paper to really make it shine!! I love the cardinal!!  It's so cute and so much fun!!  Wonder what she's going to use this set for next month!!  tee hee!!

Shannon's fun card is a result of clearance shopping last year... she had these great globe stickers that she found last year and bought them for a great price and add a little bit of glitter tape and some sponging and it's a fabulous greeting card!

We missed  you Melani!!  The next class is Tuesday January 3rd at 7:00 pm!  see ya then!!
